The temporomandibular joint is subject to all the diseases and disorders that can affect other joints. While the majority of these problems can be dealt with by non-surgical methods, there are circumstances in which a surgical approach is necesary. Expanded and updated, the 2nd edition of this surgical reference covers the clinical assessment and investigation of the patient and the clinical conditions associated with disorders of the temporomandibular joint. The advantages and disadvantages of competing techniques are assessed, and advice is given on the best approach to treatment. New features of this edition include detailed coverage of diagnostic imaging techniques including expanded discussion of magnetic resonance imaging which has significantly developed in use since publication of the first edition.
