However difficult it may be in this day and age, this ninth edition is further improved and refined. The contents remain as academically sound as always, but the aesthetic appearance of has been much enhanced. It is a must for every gastroenterologist and hepatologist's bookshelf and the fast-moving pace of the field warrants a new edition. The online version is a significant advance and will enable this book to remain relevant in the UpToDate, easy access era.
